I am getting married in a few months (2nd marriage) and we have decided that we only want my 5yr old daughter and 7yr old son to stand with us during the ceremony. Would that be strange since they are so young? They are both very mature for their ages and excited about playing such a big role. So I’m definitely not concerned about their behavior or anything. My other dilemma is that my best friend has been very involved in helping me with the planning and I would like to add her to the program in some way and give her a title to acknowledge her… any suggestions?

Some of the answers tell me I should prob add a little background info though… First, I don’t intend for my children to take on the stress and roles of a true best man and maid of honor. Maybe I really do mean them in the literal sense… my son really is our “best little man”, and my daughter is a very girly girl who would love nothing more than to be what the words “maid of honor” truely mean! Maybe I’ll switch it to “girl of honor”!
And I would love to have my friend be my M of H but we are in a predicament where my fiance has 2 brothers that he is very close to and doesn’t really have any 1 best friend. If he adds both brothers then I have to add… and it just keeps growing and growing!!! And we really do want the ceremony to honor us as a new family, I don’t want to take away from that by adding a bunch of other people up there.

the wedding couple, and a large amount from the visitors is going to be inked, spiked, dyed, and pierced (from the punk, skin, gothabilly and goth persuasions). the visitors may be buddies from the wedding couple – very couple of family people is going to be asked, so don’t worry about problem the older set. i’m searching for ideas that are not too cheesy, trite, or apparent (e.g., no sailor man jerry or overtly halloween styles).
the fundamental concept we have, to date, is “wealthy kid’s birthday celebration.Inch i was thinking giant inflatable bouncy factor, kiddie meals, along with a live band… we are really not even sure in regards to a venue (it will not be considered a chapel and we want to prevent banquet halls/hotels because of the *yawn* factor – and we’d prefer to achieve the ceremony and reception site function as the same)… ideas we’d were the most popular dive bar along with a bowling alley.

We are likely to got married by chapel on sept 19 and finances the chapel and put compensated but things are so formal and that i seem like it isn’t me.
